Org Admin Quickstart¶
Stand up your organization so your team can configure intake and your suppliers can deliver. This is about people and access — not about transforming data, which lives in the Project Owner path.
What you need
The owner or admin role in your organization. If you just logged in for the first time, a personal organization was created for you and you are already its owner.
Step 1 — Know your organization¶
Every object in Expecto belongs to one Organization — the tenant boundary. On first Auth0 login, Expecto auto-provisions your organization, your user, and an owner membership. Confirm which org you are acting in from the account area; all the steps below operate within it. See Organizations & multi-tenancy for the model.
Step 2 — Invite your team¶
Open Settings → Members and invite the colleagues who will configure projects. Assign each a role:
- Owner / Admin — full configuration and member management.
- Member — works within the org per the project setup.
Members are matched by email (case-insensitive), so an invite reaches the person whether or not they have logged in yet.
Step 3 — Add a Data Provider¶
A supplier that submits data is a Data Provider, not a member of your org. Create the provider organization and add its contacts as provider members (CONTRIBUTOR or MANAGER).
Granting a provider access to a specific project and contract happens on the project itself — see the Project Owner Quickstart — so a provider only ever sees the deliveries you scope to them.
Step 4 — Issue an API key¶
For programmatic access (REST or MCP), open Settings → API Keys and create a key. It acts within this organization with the permissions you grant.
Treat a key like a password — it carries the organization's access. Hand it to
your developers via the Developer Quickstart,
which shows how to authenticate with the X-API-Key header.
Step 5 — Subscription and usage¶
Review your plan and usage from the organization settings. Usage is tracked separately from billing, so you can see consumption independent of the billing cycle.
