Expecto

Configurable data normalization, transformation, and validation for B2B data exchange.

Expecto turns the format chaos of receiving structured data from many suppliers into a single, validated, standardized output stream — without writing format-specific code for every supplier.

What problem this solves

Every B2B operation that depends on data coming in from outside the company runs into the same friction:

  • Each supplier sends data in its own proprietary format — CSV with the wrong delimiter, Excel with merged headers, DATEV exports, custom XML.
  • Validation happens too late, usually after the data has already been imported somewhere.
  • "Fix the file and resend" loops by email take days and rarely converge.
  • The cost of onboarding a new supplier scales linearly with the number of suppliers.

Expecto replaces that loop with a submission portal: suppliers submit data against a defined contract, get immediate validation feedback, and the platform produces a standardized output package for the downstream system.

Who Expecto is for

This documentation is organized by role, because the four primary audiences interact with Expecto very differently:

  • Suppliers — submit files, react to validation errors, resubmit. The shortest, most focused path.
  • Project Owners — configure the receiving side: entities, contracts, transformers, business rules, exports. The deepest path.
  • Org Admins — manage users, data providers, API keys, subscription, audit.
  • Developers — integrate via MCP and REST API, automate submission and downstream consumption.

If you are not sure which role applies, start with Concepts for the 60-second product picture.

What Expecto is not

To set expectations clearly:

  • Expecto is a submission portal, not a middleware layer that pulls data from supplier systems. Suppliers submit data directly.
  • Expecto is not a BI tool — downstream analytics live in BuiltAPI or your own warehouse.
  • Expecto does not transform data on a stream basis. Processing is per-session, per-delivery.
